The Puigcerdà Music Festival returns from July 24-26, 2026, with six concerts exploring jazz, root music, and classical genres, featuring both local and international performers.

Cerdanya will host a new edition of the Puigcerdà Music Festival, taking place from July 24 to 26, 2026. The festival features a lineup of six performances blending different musical styles, including jazz, root music, and classical, with the participation of local and international artists.
The opening day, Friday, July 24, begins at 9 PM at the Sala de Convencions del Museu Cerdà. The inaugural concert will be presented by young performers: Aïnhoa Pla (clarinet and oboe) and pianist Laia Martin. Pla, a recent graduate of the Conservatori de Música dels Pirineus, has received the “Protagonistes del demà” Award from the Rotary Club of Berguedà.
The Teatre Municipal del Casino Ceretà will be the venue for Saturday and Sunday's concerts. On Saturday, July 25, at 12 PM, Eva Sauret and Kic Barroc (voice and piano) will present 'Barrocant Jazz', a program reinterpreting 18th-century works with a jazz twist. The following day, Sunday, July 26, at the same time, the group La Sonsoni (featuring Elies Porter on violin and vocals, and Pep Lizandra on diatonic accordion, vocals, and percussion) will offer their root music show 'Muntanyes de vida', focusing on the transformation of mountain villages.
On the afternoon of Saturday, July 25, at 6 PM, the clarinet trio Una cosa rara, comprising Carlos Moliner, Naüm Monterde, and Oriol Garcia, will perform 'Cafè Saumell'. This concert will evoke the Havana cafes of the late 19th century with a repertoire including danzones, opera, and polkas.
Saturday's program concludes at 9 PM with a violin and piano concert. Violinist Nigedemu Zeng, a laureate of international competitions such as Osaka (2019) and Kachaturian (2023), will perform alongside pianist Ren Zhang, presenting a demanding program featuring works by P. Sarasate, C. Franck, and R. Strauss.
The festival's closing event on Sunday, July 26 at 9 PM, will feature performances of Brahms' Piano Quartet in C minor, Op. 60, and Schubert's String Quintet in C major, D. 956. The pieces will be performed by Luba Saladukhina and Janna Gandelman (violins), Aliaksandra Zebryna (viola), Antonio Mostacci and Dmitry Yablonsky (cellos), and Laia Martin (piano).
Tickets are available for advance purchase at Codetickets or at the box office one hour before each concert, priced at €12 and €15. A weekend pass is also available for €50.
The event is organized by the Grup de Recerca de Cerdanya and supported by the Ajuntament de Puigcerdà, the Diputació de Girona, the Departament de Cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya, and the Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals (ICEC).
