This decision will allow the City Council to immediately resume the administrative processing, which had been temporarily suspended due to the submission of appeals in a public procurement procedure. According to the council, the withdrawal of the allegations ensures that the initially planned deadlines are maintained and that the process continues without modifying the technical conditions of the tender document.
For its part, ERC Vimbodí i Poblet has clarified that the withdrawal of the appeals does not imply that they cease to consider that there are "irregularities and shortcomings" in the procedure promoted by the municipal government. The republican group has stated that their contributions sought "legal guarantees, transparency, and improvements" in a four-year contract that affects a key facility for the municipality.
Furthermore, ERC has expressed concern about the current state of the facilities and the lack of clear planning to ensure the proper functioning of the pool in the coming years. Despite the criticisms, the municipal group has chosen to withdraw the allegations "out of responsibility" and to avoid prolonging a situation they consider a "sterile political war".
“"The minimum conditions are not met to continue our work within the City Council."
Finally, ERC Vimbodí i Poblet has announced that it is "completely" stepping away from active municipal politics and leaving "all political and management responsibility" in the hands of the mayor's office and the municipal government, accusing the mayor's office of a lack of dialogue, transparency, and institutional respect.
