The Childhood and Youth departments of the Montblanc City Council have organized a new edition of Festalateva Infantil and Festalateva Jove. These established events will fill the early summer with recreational, cultural, sports, and educational activities for the municipality's children and young people. This year, two distinct weeks have been scheduled for each age group.
The 21st Festalateva Infantil will run from June 28 to July 5, aimed at children aged 0 to 13. It will kick off with Cucània Kids in 1 d’Octubre square, featuring an afternoon of workshops, the Cucafera dance, a popular snack, and a family show. This celebration marks the tenth anniversary of Montblanc's Cucafera.
Among the children's activities are the family show "El primer viatge" by Factoria Bram, a chess day, and a family escape room on June 30. July 1 will offer inflatables, a zip line, a climbing wall, and sports games, followed by a water slide on July 2 at the Santa Anna bastion. The children's program will conclude on July 3 with a welcome event for babies born in 2025, the show "La festa", and a family night pool party. On July 5, the municipal pool will host a charity event for the 'Mulla't per l'Esclerosi Múltiple' campaign.
Festalateva Jove will take place from July 11 to 16 for young people aged 14 and over. The program includes the second 'downhill race of contraptions' through the town's streets, featuring route novelties and safety measures. On the night of July 11, Festeen will be held in the small Catalunya square, with music by DJ Canoo and Lady Vicking.
On July 12, the Barjaula paella contest will be held in the courtyard of Les Muralles school. The program continues with an exhibition volleyball match on July 13, a musical bingo on July 14 in the Major square, and a FIFA tournament with billiards and foosball on July 15. On July 16, an immersive escape room about an alien invasion, combining augmented reality and artificial intelligence, will be offered.
Festalateva promotes participation, coexistence, and healthy leisure, highlighting the involvement of local entities and municipal services. The Montblanc City Council thanks all involved parties for their collaboration in this consolidated initiative.
This year, the contest to design the poster and t-shirt for Festalateva Infantil was won by Nora Pérez from Montblanc. All information and registrations are available through the usual channels of the Montblanc City Council and Joventut Montblanc.
