Emergency services rescued a 72-year-old hiker this Sunday in the Vall de Montblanc area, after the man suffered a fall that prevented him from continuing his route.

The alert was received at 12:54 PM, at which point a ground unit of the Montblanc Fire Department was activated. According to initial reports, the man twisted his foot during a group excursion, leaving him immobilized on the terrain.
Once located, the emergency teams moved the man to a more accessible area to facilitate air evacuation. Subsequently, a rescue helicopter picked up the hiker and transported him to the Montblanc football field.
At that location, SEM medical staff were waiting to perform an initial assessment. It appears he suffered a sprain, and he has been transferred to a medical center for further examination and treatment.
