Agents from the Mossos d’Esquadra and the Local Police dismantled an illegal workshop in Montblanc, where two men aged 20 and 23 were arrested last Thursday for motorcycle theft and dismantling.

The investigation began last October when the Mossos learned of the theft of a motorcycle in La Selva del Camp and the possibility that it might be hidden in an industrial warehouse in the municipality of Montblanc. After analyzing the information, on November 14, agents traveled to the location to find the vehicle and verify the alleged illicit activity.
During the operation, which also involved the Investigation and Documentation Group (GRD) of the Regional Traffic Area, various cars, mopeds, trailers, license plates, disassembled engines, and tools typical of a mechanical workshop were inspected. The owner of the warehouse authorized access and collaborated fully with the police inspection.
Inside the premises, four motorcycles were located, one of which corresponded to the one stolen in La Selva del Camp. Following this discovery, one of the mechanics, the 20-year-old man, was initially arrested.
Once the operation concluded, the vehicles were transferred to police facilities. The investigation determined that all motorcycles had manipulated chassis numbers, and two had been stolen in Valls and one in La Selva del Camp. The origin of the fourth motorcycle is still pending determination.
With the evidence collected, the two mechanics allegedly linked to the theft of the three motorcycles were arrested the following Thursday. The investigation remains open, as it is not ruled out that they were scrapping the vehicles to sell the parts through internet portals. The detainees were brought before the duty court in Valls on Friday.
