The 24th Santa Llúcia Fair in Canyelles, considered the gateway to Christmas in Catalonia, will take place on November 21st and 22nd. The event, now in its 24th edition, will transform the town's old quarter into a large Christmas market with over 350 stalls and an extensive program of activities.

Canyelles is preparing to host the 24th edition of the Santa Llúcia Fair, an event established as one of Catalonia's most important Christmas markets and an emblematic date for the municipality. The fair, celebrating its 24th edition this year, will be held on November 21st and 22nd, making Canyelles the gateway to Christmas.
With over two decades of history, the Santa Llúcia Fair has become a benchmark event that brings together tradition, craftsmanship, popular culture, gastronomy, and family activities. It is Catalonia's second Christmas Fair and is included in the Christmas Markets calendar of the Barcelona Provincial Council. Throughout the weekend, the streets of the old town will be filled with visitors who can discover an extensive display of artisans, producers, and exhibitors.
The fair is particularly noted for its connection to Catalan Christmas traditions, featuring thematic exhibitions, nativity scene displays, traditional craft demonstrations, a Christmas market for crafts and food, family shows, musical performances, and children's activities.
This year's edition will feature over 350 stalls offering Christmas products, traditional items, gardening supplies, crafts, and food. The program of events includes exhibitions, children's workshops, the Wishing Tree, the traditional tasting of 'escudella de Nadal' (Christmas stew), activities for the little ones in the North Pole zone, the Giant Tió (Christmas log), the Christmas Shop, the delivery of tiós to babies born in 2026 in Canyelles, the House of Chocolate, the Children's Drawing Contest, Christmas carol sing-alongs, live music, and the spectacular Pyromusical show by Pirotècnia Igual.
The Castle of Canyelles will be transformed into a grand exhibition space for magical fairy tales. The Parc Noel will also return, a fantasy-filled area for children to visit Santa Claus and deliver their letters. Additionally, the Royal Page will set up his Haima in the Castle Gardens to receive children wishing to hand over their letters to the Three Wise Men.
The Santa Llúcia Fair is a significant driver for the economic, tourist, and commercial promotion of Canyelles, attracting thousands of visitors and positioning the municipality as a key destination during the early weeks of the Christmas campaign.
