The change is a response to the scheduling conflict with the general elections, set for November 29. The Canyelles City Council deemed it impossible to reconcile the organization of the fair with the electoral process, aiming to ensure the event's quality and safety.
The Santa Llúcia Fair, established as the second most important Christmas market in Catalonia, transforms the streets of Canyelles with hundreds of stalls, family activities, exhibitions, and shows. Recent editions have attracted over 110,000 visitors and hosted more than 350 exhibitors.
This earlier schedule also impacts the Lighting Ceremony, which officially marks the start of the festive season in the municipality. This event has been rescheduled to November 15, at 5 PM, kicking off the Christmas campaign a week earlier than usual.
