Students from the 4th year of ESO at the Eugeni d'Ors Institute have carried out planting and waste collection tasks in natural areas of Vilafranca del Penedès, with the support of the Penedès-Garraf ADF Federation.

This action, carried out on Tuesday, included the planting of vegetation strips and waste collection in the area of Camí Fariner and the Riera de Llitrà. The objective was to introduce beneficial plant species for pest control in the vegetation strip near the motorhome parking area.
The initiative is part of a Service-Learning project that the students have developed throughout the academic year. Through this project, they have worked on the Sustainable Development Goals and have carried out various actions to improve both the Institute's patio and the natural environment of the municipality.
The waste collection also integrates into the European campaign Let's Clean Up Europe, a joint action across the continent to raise awareness about the problem of illegally dumped waste and promote its collection. In this task, the employment plans for natural environment maintenance from the Treball als Barris project, subsidized by the Servei Públic d'Ocupació de Catalunya, also collaborated.
The Vilafranca City Council has expressed its gratitude to the students and teachers for the work done throughout the year, highlighting their commitment and involvement in the conservation of the natural environment and local green spaces.
