A photographic exhibition in Sitges commemorates the 75th anniversary of Corpus Christi, tracing the festival's origins and the role of community spirit in creating floral carpets.

To the sound of a processional drum, an exhibition has opened in Sitges that transports visitors back to the Corpus Christi celebrations of 75 years ago, offering a retrospective look at the festival's beginnings. The display features a collection of images from the early fifties, highlighting the event's evolution and recalling how, in its early days, the floral carpets were created through the unity and work of the local residents.
The exhibition's route follows the historical path of the Corpus procession, showcasing photographs, some previously unseen, of its journey through each street. A notable image, recently discovered and partly acquired for the occasion, depicts the town's old giants passing by Carrer Francesc Gumà, in front of the Prado. This and other historical snapshots are on display.
The exhibition is open every afternoon this week, from 5 PM to 8:30 PM. During the Corpus Christi weekend and the following one, the opening hours will be extended to include both morning and afternoon sessions.
