A Lleida duty court decreed provisional imprisonment last Friday for a 27-year-old resident of Arbeca, accused of multiple robberies in properties and the parish of the town in Les Garrigues.

The Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan Police) arrested the individual mid-last week after receiving several reports of assaults in Arbeca. The Lleida duty court decreed provisional imprisonment last Friday, considering that the accused already had numerous antecedents for similar acts.
Among the reported robberies, one occurred on New Year's Eve at a home on Carrer de les Pregàries, where he forced the door and took several objects. Beverages intended for the New Year's Eve celebration at the Sala Centre, organized by a group of neighbors, were also stolen.
The Arbeca parish also reported multiple robberies, from which a television, radiators, and food from the Food Bank were stolen. These incidents had caused great unease among the residents, who expressed satisfaction with the arrest and subsequent imprisonment.
The accused had already been arrested the previous October for another wave of thefts. On that occasion, the Mossos charged him with six robberies in houses and two in warehouses committed from August until October 3, where he stole everything from food to materials, such as a copper pipe from the heating installation.
