A forest and agricultural vegetation fire in Cervià de les Garrigues has led to the precautionary evacuation of eight residents from their homes this Sunday morning. The fire, reported at 2:47 PM, is being fought by around thirty units from the Bomberos de la Generalitat.

The fire department has deployed a total of thirty units, eight of which are aerial, to contain the flames being fanned by a southerly wind. Extinguishing efforts are focused on controlling the right flank of the fire and protecting buildings on the left flank.
Due to the fire's proximity and firefighting operations, traffic has been halted on roads LP-7031 between L'Albi and Cervià de les Garrigues, and LV-7031 between Cervià and les Borges Blanques.
The aerial units include three surveillance and attack planes, four water-bombing helicopters, and one command helicopter. This fire broke out in the Garrigues region, shortly after another fire in Sanaüja (la Segarra) was brought under control on Saturday.
Rural Agents have warned that the fire risk is very high this Sunday in 30 municipalities in central and western Catalonia, spread across several regions including Alt Urgell, Anoia, Noguera, Ribera d'Ebre, Segarra, Segrià, Solsonès, and Terra Alta. Plan Alfa level 3 has been activated in these areas, urging maximum caution.
