The fair achieved record figures with the participation of 51 producers and 67 samples submitted for the Best Extra Virgin Olive Oils Awards. This edition stood out for attracting new audiences from the regions of Girona and Barcelona, highlighting its importance beyond the Lleida province.
“"I would say fewer people came this year, but they bought more. I make a very positive assessment."
Producers agreed on the growing interest in quality, which boosted the sale of bottles, especially those recognized with awards. However, some exhibitors, such as the president of the Juncosa cooperative, Albert Guiu, regretted that Saturday's rain reduced visitor numbers and purchases.
During the closing ceremony, presided over by the president of the Lleida Provincial Council, Joan Talarn, the strategic role of the fair was highlighted. The mayor of Les Borges Blanques, Josep Farran, emphasized the need to plan for the future of the event, especially for the 30th edition.
“"The fair, absolutely, must consider generating new meeting spaces between producers and consumers so that these producers can explain their product and the life project behind it."
Talarn used his speech to announce significant investments in the Garrigues region during 2026, including an agreement for Garrigues Altes that foresees a total investment of 18.4 million euros between 2026 and 2027.
