Area in Alta Garrotxa with signs prohibiting climbing due to bird nesting.

Rural Agents have reported two sports activity guides for leading a group of nineteen people on a rappelling excursion in a sector of Alta Garrotxa where climbing is temporarily forbidden.

The access ban is in response to the need to preserve sensitive species, such as the Egyptian vulture, which nests in this specific area of the Garrotxa region.
This action is part of the surveillance and protection tasks for wild fauna during the nesting season. To ensure compliance with the restriction, Rural Agents have dismantled the rappelling installation and a section of handrail that was present in the area.
The Rural Agents corps has intensified signage with clear indications prohibiting climbing and access to protect endangered species.
