The Consorci de Salut i Social de Catalunya (CSC) has presented the document 'Roadmap for the implementation of an environmental sustainability strategy in health and social care centers' during the III CSC Sustainability Conference.

The document, developed by the CSC's Green Team, aims to create a joint strategy to promote environmental sustainability in the health and social sector. The presentation took place during the III CSC Sustainability Conference, titled 'The health and social sector facing the climate emergency: from roadmap to action'.
Participants included representatives from the Department of Health, the Consorci Hospitalari de Vic (CHV)/FHSC, the Fundació Hospital d'Olot i Comarcal de la Garrotxa, the Consorci Sanitari Alt Penedès-Garraf, Comunidad #PorElClima ECODES, and the CSC itself. The welcome address was given by the CSC president, Josep Mayoral.
Ariadna Mas, Deputy Director General of Health Planning at the Department of Health, presented tools such as the Health Plan and the health map to address environmental sustainability in health planning.
Subsequently, Anna Fuster, Environmental Sustainability Technician at the CSC, detailed the roadmap's content, stating that "the document's objective is to generate a joint strategy through the various projects that the centers currently have underway".
A panel discussion with Jaume Castellano, Montse Masó, and Marta Terrones shared the experiences of their centers. Jon Moreno from #PorElClima presented the SCOPE CO2 tool, which has already been used by 71 users in Catalonia to calculate the environmental impact of 169 hospital centers.
Finally, Marta Moles, Director of the Sustainability Area at the CSC, presented preliminary results from a survey indicating that "all participating entities are increasingly implementing actions to improve the environmental sustainability of their organizations". President Josep Mayoral highlighted the goal to "reduce the environmental footprint of the health system and anticipate emergencies".
