The Consorci de l’Alta Garrotxa utilized Rural Guards over the summer to enhance surveillance and control public use in the Protected Natural Area, managing incidents and reducing reports compared to the previous year.

During the summer season, the Consorci de l’Alta Garrotxa reinforced surveillance and public use control in various parts of the Protected Natural Area with the service of Rural Guards.
In the Sadernes–Sant Aniol axis, 102 service days were carried out, with special attention to parking areas and surroundings like the Pont del Llierca and the Sant Aniol refuge. 378 notices were registered for incidents such as dogs, improperly parked vehicles, or inadequate overnight stays. The number of official reports processed, mainly for camping and mastic extraction, was halved compared to the previous year.
In the Muga area, 21 surveillance days were conducted in locations like Albanyà and Sant Llorenç de la Muga, focusing on motorized access and natural pools. Three reports were processed for restricted access, and notices regarding unleashed dogs and parking were managed. In Albanyà, a positive evolution is noted in parking management.
Surveillance was complemented by ongoing coordination with information staff, local councils, residents, and various security forces, enabling a rapid response to detected incidents.
The Consorci will continue working to improve the management of public use and the protection of the most frequented areas of the Alta Garrotxa.
