From June to September, the Consorci d’Acció Social de la Garrotxa has conducted the 'Compartint partides' workshop series in various Senior Centers across the region. This initiative primarily seeks to establish an intergenerational and recreational meeting space, promoting games and experiences among people of different ages.
The Girona-based cooperative La Juganera, specializing in promoting gaming culture as healthy leisure and an educational tool based on values such as equity, ecology, equality, and democracy, has been responsible for facilitating the workshops and selecting the games.
Fifteen locations and municipalities participated in this edition: les Preses, Tortellà, Sant Jaume de Llierca, Sant Joan les Fonts, la Canya, the Casal Cívic d’Olot, l’Esplai La Caixa d’Olot, Argelaguer, les Planes d’Hostoles, Santa Pau, Sant Feliu de Pallerols, Sant Esteve d’en Bas, Sant Privat d’en Bas, Castellfollit de la Roca, and the Montsacopa residence. The sessions involved children and young people, fostering dialogue and coexistence.
Due to the success and positive reception of the initiative, several centers have decided to acquire board game collections to continue enjoying this activity permanently in their regular meeting spaces.
