The mountain race Tap Trail, taking place in Cassà de la Selva on October 24th and 25th, reaches its seventh edition with notable novelties. For the first time, the event obtains the Green Footprint seal, acknowledging its commitment to sustainability and minimizing environmental impact. Additionally, a new, more demanding 30-kilometer modality with 1,200 meters of positive elevation gain is introduced.
This year, the Tap Trail collaborates with the Fundació Selvans, an organization dedicated to forest heritage conservation. For each registration, a donation of 1 euro will be sent to the foundation. The race maintains its usual modalities, including children's races (3 and 5 km), the Marcha (12 km), the Express (16 km), and the Trail (21 km), in addition to the new Trail ½ (30 km).
The start and finish for all events will be at the Pavelló Aminda Valls i Sabaté in Cassà de la Selva. The organization has reinforced sustainability measures, such as reducing signage tapes, eliminating cups at aid stations, and proper waste separation, managing permits with the Consorci de les Gavarres.
The Tap Trail will once again be the first event in the Circuit Trail del Gironès, a mountain running league that also includes races in Girona, Bescanó, and Sant Gregori. The circuit will feature fast modalities (10-16 km) and long modalities (20-25 km), with absolute, U18, and U23 categories.
