A total of twenty-five Girona football teams are starting promotion playoff matches this weekend for various Catalan league tiers, aiming to better represent the region.

The football season in Girona reaches a climax with promotion playoffs, where 25 teams from the province will seek to advance to higher categories. From Lliga Elit to Tercera Catalana, these clubs face an 'all or nothing' challenge to represent Girona's football.
Palamós, aiming to return to Lliga Elit, heads the list. The team, which finished second in the regular season, will face Viladecans in the semi-finals. Their coach, Marçal Juanola, is optimistic: "I am convinced we will rise to the occasion." Since his arrival in mid-April, the team has shown an upward trend, securing thirteen out of a possible fifteen points.
In the fight for promotion to Primera Catalana, four Girona-based derbies stand out: Bescanó will host Begur, and Arbúcies will face Porqueres. The group 1 season was marked by extreme parity, with the four teams separated by just a few points.
Meanwhile, Camprodon, Santjoanenc, Sils-La Selva, and Bellcaire will attempt to reach Segona Catalana, playing away matches against rivals from Tarragona and Reus.
Finally, a long list of teams aspire to reach Tercera Catalana: Agullana, Roses City, Vilamalla, Camallera, Hostoles, Maià, Camós, Castellfollit, Sant Hilari, GEiEG, Atlètic Club Lloret, Sant Ponç, Montessori, La Punxa, Tossa B, and Puigcerdà. Some will celebrate success, while others will face disappointment, but all share a passion for the region's football.
