The 17th edition of the Carles Rahola Local Communication Awards has received a total of 69 works, submitted by 68 participants, according to the organizers. These awards, convened by the Diputació de Girona and the Girona demarcation of the Col·legi de Periodistes, aim to recognize journalistic work in the Girona regions and foster informative creativity.
Written press is once again the category with the most entries, totaling 26 works submitted by 13 journalists. Press photography follows closely with 24 images signed by 12 professionals. Participation remains more moderate in the digital field (7 proposals), radio (5 programs), and television (4 works). Institutional communication completes the set with 3 proposals, while the award for the best journalistic communication project has been declared void.
One of the most notable developments this year is the 20% increase in the economic endowment of the prizes. All categories have increased from 1,000 to 1,200 euros. Likewise, the prize for the best journalistic communication project, despite being void this year, has seen its endowment increased to 2,400 euros.
The awards ceremony will take place on February 26th at eight in the evening at the Auditori de Girona, when the names of the winners will be announced. The XIV Setmana dels Rahola will also be held during February, featuring a program of public activities focused on communication and current affairs.
