Two people are currently admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona after being involved in a head-on traffic accident on Monday in Llançà.

According to health sources, a man is in critical condition and a woman is in serious condition with a reserved prognosis. Both were transferred to the hospital following the incident, which occurred around kilometer 21 of the N-260 road, near the Valleta area.
The accident involved a car and a van, causing one of the vehicles to overturn on the road. This forced the closure of traffic in both directions to facilitate the work of emergency teams.
The operation involved four ambulances from the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques, a medical helicopter for the evacuation of the critically injured person, as well as units from the Bombers and the Mossos d'Esquadra traffic division. The other two occupants involved in the crash, a man and a minor, have already been discharged after being treated for minor injuries.
