The Bibliobús Pere Quart, managed by the Departament de Cultura, resumed its regular activity this Monday, June 22nd, in the counties of Pallars Jussà, Pallars Sobirà, Alta Ribagorça, and Alt Urgell.

The service, which had been halted for months due to the previous driver's retirement and the need for a new selection process, now has a newly hired employee. The resumption of operations takes effect today, continuing a key service for reading in the area.
During the period when the selection process for the new driver was underway, starting May 4th, users had access to a supplementary inter-library loan service at their local town halls. This measure ensured access to library resources despite the vehicle's downtime.
The Bibliobús Pere Quart, which began its journey in 1982, has expanded its route over the years to cover a wide area of the Lleida Pyrenees. It currently serves 18 municipalities across the four mentioned counties, operating on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Detailed schedules can be found on the Public Libraries of Catalonia website.
The bus is named in honor of the Catalan poet Joan Oliver (1899-1986), also known as Pere Quart, who was one of the drivers for the Front Library Service during the Spanish Civil War.
