The city of Girona will be the stage for the 11th edition of Europa Cantat Junior, a prestigious international festival for choirs under 18, taking place from July 12th to 19th.

The festival will bring together a total of 1,200 young singers from 43 choirs representing 12 different countries. Over the course of a week, the city will host more than 40 musical activities, led by around fifteen international musicians, conductors, and educators.
Europa Cantat Junior is an itinerant, non-competitive event held every three years in a different European city. Its primary goal is to provide a meeting space for young singers, focusing on choral education, musical exchange, community building, and discovering the local territory.
The festival's opening concert is scheduled for Sunday, July 12th, at 8:30 PM, on the iconic steps of Girona Cathedral. This performance will be under the artistic direction of Jaume Sala, with arrangements by Gregori Ferrer. Approximately 200 singers, aged between 10 and 16, from 16 choirs affiliated with the Secretariat of Children's Choirs of Catalonia, will perform a repertoire inspired by Catalan musical tradition.
