Over a dozen people attended yesterday at the Granés Fundació headquarters in Banyoles for the inauguration of the art therapy exhibition ‘Dialogues with Art. Breaking the Silence’, part of the city's main festival.

The exhibition, which can be visited free of charge until November 30th, features works resulting from the 'Dialogues with Art' project. This initiative, now in its third edition, originated from the Eating Disorder Unit of the Institut d’Assistència Sanitària (IAS), with the collaboration of the Generalitat, aiming to raise public awareness and combat the stigma associated with mental health disorders.
The presentation was attended by the Director and Manager of Granés Fundació, Laura Masferrer; the Head of the Eating Disorder Unit at IAS and Vice President of Granés Fundació, Glòria Tràfach; Psychologist and art therapist at the IAS Eating Disorder Unit, Marta Aguasca; and Lourdes Vilamitjana, Member of the SuperArt Group.
The exhibited artworks are inspired by the reflection of artist Frida Kahlo: “To wall up my suffering is to risk it consuming me from within”. Through this initiative, Granés Fundació reaffirms its commitment to using artistic expression and culture as tools for social transformation and inclusion.
Banyoles' main festival runs from October 22nd to 26th.
