Spar Girona coach, Roberto Íñiguez, demanded maximum collective effort from his players to face the key EuroLeague match against Galatasaray at Fontajau, due to the injury of Mariam Coulibaly.

The Girona team hosts Galatasaray tomorrow (7 PM) in a crucial showdown for the leadership of EuroLeague Group E, with both teams holding a 7-1 record. The team must face this challenge without center Mariam Coulibaly, who suffered an ankle injury last Sunday against Penya.

"We have to approach excellence, and even more so without Mariam. We have to do very collective work. What we did in the first phase games, in terms of activity, contact, of not stopping the idea of activity second by second, must be religion tomorrow."

The coach expressed relief after learning the extent of Coulibaly's injury, which was initially feared to be very serious. It appears to be a small fissure that needs time to heal, although her evolution is positive. Íñiguez did not specify the recovery time but confirmed the player is already moving on a bicycle.
Regarding the opponent, Íñiguez praised Galatasaray, highlighting their physical play, experience, and a “terrible” exterior game, featuring six high-level foreign players. However, he still considers Fenerbahçe to be “the best in the EuroLeague”. The coach expects Marta Canella to be fit, having recovered from a knock, as her tests were satisfactory.
