The event, organized by Diari de Girona and Prensa Ibérica, gathered nearly 300 people at the Hotel Carlemany to acknowledge the talent and perseverance of female professionals from Girona. The gala emphasized the importance of giving visibility to women who inspire and leave their mark through their personal and professional journeys.
Among those honored, the Dona Talent Award was presented to a content creator and Catalan teacher, the Dona Referent Award to a tourist guide, the Professional Trajectory Award to a doctor and hospital service head, and the Honorary Award to a former foundation director. All of them received a well-deserved tribute for their values, achievements, and leadership.
“"My goal is to bring the Catalan language to the streets, to social networks, and to people's daily lives."
During the event, a representative from Diari de Girona stressed that equality is a collective responsibility and advocated for the media's role in making visible female trajectories that have often remained in the background. The need to recognize female talent as a reality that must be supported and projected was also highlighted.
“"It is important to accompany these processes with a human perspective and help find meaning in them."
The awardees expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the value of their work and the importance of their professions. One of the honorees dedicated the award to her grandmother, highlighting the importance of transmitting the language. Another defended the work of tourist guides as ambassadors of the region, while a doctor dedicated her award to patients and their families, underscoring the importance of human accompaniment. Finally, a former foundation director stated that working to improve people's quality of life is a reward in itself.
