The tenth edition of the Shimano Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona by Garmin, taking place from September 18th to 20th in Girona, has opened registrations for its various cycling events.

The festival combines high-level competitions with less demanding options, attracting both professional cyclists and amateurs. Among the highlighted events is the 226ERS UCI Gravel World Series, a qualifying race for the UCI Gravel World Championship. This competition will feature a new route, designed to be faster and more fluid, starting from Càrniques Juià and concluding at the festival's fairgrounds. The top 25% of each category will directly qualify for the world championship. Participation is open to cyclists with a UCI federation license and those opting for a day license, with an additional cost of 6 euros.
Other notable events include the HERO UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup, with a route starting from Les Planes d’Hostoles and finishing at the festival grounds, inheriting part of the La Tramun course. The Shimano Super Cup Massi (XCO) and the Spanish XCE (cross country eliminator) championship will also be held.
In the MTB category, participants can enjoy the marathon world cup and the short version of La Tramun. For younger riders, the Shimano Super Cup Youth has been organized. The organization has also planned a large cyclotourism event, the Ciclobrava by Lapierre, with three route options for different levels, and the Continental Gravel Ride Tour, a non-competitive ride for gravel enthusiasts.
