With a setup of warm, colorful, and white lights, and a static stage presence, Marc Parrot and the Quartet Brossa delivered a performance based on their album "El frec i la bala". The project, born from a shared desire to "do something together", combines the harmonic and often virtuosic melodies of the quartet with Parrot's vocals and lyrics.
The album explores diverse inspirations. In "La carta", the lyrics are by poet Manuel Forcano; "Casagemas" addresses the tragic story of friendship between Jaume Casagemas and Picasso; and "La casa del pare" reflects on loss.
“"I am shooting bullets at you and Quartet Brossa is launching explosions"
Parrot explained to the audience that the project's name describes its two souls: the "frec" (friction), the sound of the bow on the strings, and the "bala" (bullet), the lyrics he shoots at the audience. The quartet not only provided musical accompaniment but also gave personality to each song, including vocalizations like "Bang, Bang" in "La bala" and an exciting vibrato in "On és l'amor".
Beyond the album's tracks, they performed pieces such as "Quantes coses", which included audience participation, and "Promesa", with lyrics by Blanca Llum Vidal. The concert concluded with a highly applauded encore, "Misteriosament feliç", leaving a sense of satisfaction from the quality music.
