Bàsquet Girona coach Moncho Fernández warned on Friday about the great offensive potential of Kosner Baskonia ahead of the upcoming Sunday match at Fontajau.

The Galician coach stated in a press conference that Kosner Baskonia, their next opponent in the Liga Endesa, not only has a “very versatile interior game that causes a lot of damage,” but also stands out for its perimeter line, which he considers the best in the competition.

"Baskonia has the best perimeter players in the Liga Endesa."

Fernández listed the names of the key players for the Basque team, including Markus Howard, Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot (the Liga Endesa top scorer with 20.1 points per game), Kobi Simmons, Trent Forrest, and Matteo Spagnolo, emphasizing that they are “high-quality players who generate a lot.”
Regarding team absences, guard Pep Busquets is doubtful due to a calf knock. However, Fernández was “optimistic” about the recovery of Argentine guard Maxi Fjellerup, who has been sidelined for weeks due to injury, noting that he is showing increasingly better signs.
The Girona team currently holds the twelfth position, two wins away from eighth place and three wins above the relegation zone. Despite this, Fernández insisted that the team must focus on the “day-to-day” and not the standings.
