Girona FC captain, Cristhian Stuani, reached the milestone of 300 official matches for the club during Saturday's victory at Montilivi against Osasuna, cementing his status as the most important player in the team's history.

The Uruguayan striker’s return followed a small tear in his left soleus muscle, which had kept him sidelined since November 23, when he played against Betis at La Cartuja. Stuani missed five league matches and the Copa del Rey elimination round against Ourense.
Although he only played the final two minutes against Osasuna, this brief appearance was enough to reach 300 official matches for the red-and-white shirt. This achievement confirms him as the player with the most professional matches for the club, surpassing Juanpe (265 matches) and Àlex Granell and Borja García (233 matches).

Cristhian Stuani is, with 300 matches and 145 goals, the most important footballer in the professional history of Girona FC.

Across those 300 matches, Stuani has scored a total of 145 goals, making him the club's all-time top scorer. 170 of these duels were in the first division (72 goals), 98 in the second division A (61 goals), with the rest distributed between the Copa, promotion play-offs, and the Champions League, the only competition where he failed to score.
Following the tricentenary celebration, the captain will experience another special match this Friday when Girona visits the RCDE Stadium to face Espanyol, one of his former teams. Against the blue-and-whites, Stuani has always shown a special scoring instinct, netting seven goals in 14 encounters.
However, the Uruguayan striker is experiencing an unusual situation this season: for the first time, he has not scored a single goal from open play in the league during an entire half-season. All three of his league goals have come from the penalty spot.
