The Secretary of Mobility and Infrastructures, Manel Nadal, has informed the mayors of the Baix Empordà region about the status of road network improvement projects in Baix Ter. The Department has given the green light to the conditioning projects for the GI-643 between Serra de Daró and Gualta and for the improvement of the access road to Les Dunes on the GI-641 in Torroella de Montgrí.
In parallel, the Generalitat has tendered the drafting of three projects aimed at enhancing safety, traffic flow, and integration into urban environments for the roads C-31, GI-634, and GI-632. These actions are part of a broader plan for the Baix Ter road network, with a total valuation exceeding 50 million euros.
The planned actions include the widening of the GI-643 (Parlavà – Serra de Daró section) to 10 meters, with two lanes of 3.5 meters and 1.5-meter shoulders, two new roundabouts, and the adaptation of bus stops, with an investment of 7 million euros. The section of the GI-643 between Serra de Daró and the C-31 will also be widened, improving the intersection at Gualta and the curve at Mas Bahí, with a budget of 6.5 million euros.
In Torroella de Montgrí, the access to the Les Dunes urbanization from the GI-641 will be improved with the construction of a roundabout and new bus lay-bys, with an estimated investment of 1.6 million euros.
Regarding the widening and urban integration of the C-31 and GI-634, projects worth 430,000 euros have been tendered for drafting, with an estimated investment of 10 million euros for the works. These actions, affecting Ullà, la Tallada d’Empordà, and Verges, plan to widen the road to 10 meters, with 3.5-meter lanes and 1.5-meter shoulders, a potential roundabout at Canet de la Tallada, and segregated routes for pedestrians and cyclists.
The drafting of the project to condition the GI-632 between la Tallada d’Empordà and l’Escala has also been tendered (300,000 euros for drafting, 6 million euros for works). This 7.5-kilometer stretch will be widened to 10 meters and will include a segregated path for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as urban integration.
Finally, the urban integration project for the GI-634 through Colomers has been tendered (150,000 euros for drafting), which will analyze the displacement of the road's axis and include sidewalks and pedestrian routes. The Department is also finalizing the conditioning project for the GI-633 and GI-634 between Colomers and Verges.
