The awareness campaign, driven by the Diputació de Girona at the proposal of the Consell d’Iniciatives Locals per al Medi Ambient de les Comarques Gironines (CILMA) and with the technical assistance of the Fundació Espigoladors, includes this practical activity as the second gleaning event planned.
The event, taking place between 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM, is aimed at interested entities and citizens and seeks to reduce food losses, promote food utilization, encourage the consumption of local products, and bring citizens closer to the reality of the primary sector.
It also aims to facilitate access to healthy and sustainable food for vulnerable individuals and raise awareness about the value of food. The harvested products will be donated to social entities.
This initiative is part of a program that also includes five online training sessions scheduled between September and early October.
