The municipality of Olost is preparing to host the 12th edition of the Shepherd's Raw Milk Cheese Fair on October 4th in the town's main square.

The event, running from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, will bring together over a dozen producers from the Association of Shepherd Cheesemakers of the Catalan Countries. Visitors will be able to purchase cheese varieties made from raw cow, sheep, and goat milk, as well as a selection of wines and jams to accompany the products.
A key new feature this year is the Great Shepherd's Cheese Challenge contest. This initiative allows visitors to actively participate in the fair by filling out information cards provided by the cheesemakers, with the chance to win a selection of artisanal cheeses.
The schedule includes a cheese tasting paired with wines at 12:00 PM, hosted by Xalem Gourmets. Interested individuals can purchase tickets through the Olost equipment website or directly on the day of the fair, subject to availability.
The fair will conclude at 5:00 PM with a performance by the Olost Giants (Geganters), featuring the figures Perot Rocaguinarda and Mercè de Pecanins. The event is organized by the Olost City Council, with support from the Barcelona Provincial Council and the producers' association.
