Litter and remnants from street drinking gatherings have become a recurring sight for residents around Prats de Lluçanès street, near the intersection of Gran Via and carretera de Castellar. The inhabitants of Can Puiggener express their discontent with the continuous nightly meetups that leave the area strewn with cans, glasses, and other debris.
The residents point out that the situation has been ongoing for some time and believe intervention is necessary to prevent these uncivil behaviors from becoming normalized. Their demands include more frequent street cleaning, the installation of some bins, and, crucially, an increased police presence during the nights.
“"What we ask for is more police presence to give the warning that street drinking gatherings are not allowed."
Municipal sources have confirmed that the Municipal Police will increase its presence in this location during nighttime hours to prevent such conduct. Additionally, the cleaning service will review the condition of the affected area.
Complaints also extend to the Can Rull neighborhood, specifically to Sant Isidor street and Josep Masllovet square, where litter is a daily problem. The president of the neighborhood association, Juan Moreno González, calls for civic responsibility and better street cleaning.
Authorities remind the public that the Civic Ordinance includes sanctions for consuming alcohol in public spaces and for behaviors that cause neighborhood disturbances, with fines ranging from 100 to 3,000 euros, depending on the severity.
