A total of 19 restaurants from the town are participating in this edition, offering a variety of dishes ranging from traditional recipes to innovative culinary creations featuring squid. Highlights include squid salad, squid tartare with pork rind, squid baos, squid meatball brioche, chickpea and mushroom casseroles, and the traditional squid 'coca de recapte'.
The event, presented at a press conference at Port Vintage with the attendance of the mayor, Estanis Fors, and the Councilor for Economic Promotion and Tourism, Ramir Vidal, also includes an extensive program of parallel activities to boost the town and connect visitors with its maritime identity. These activities will take place throughout the duration of the festival.
The activity program features boat trips with live music on Sundays, family and children's activities such as workshops and storytelling, guided tours and thematic itineraries about Arenys' history and port, educational talks on marine life, and traditional and popular gastronomy events like the Gastronomic Fair, the Popular Dinner with sea shanties, the "Calamarenys at the Market" day, and the recreation of the traditional Fish Auction.
This initiative, organized by the Arenys de Mar Town Council in collaboration with the Sant Elm Fishermen's Guild and the local gastronomic and cultural community, aims to promote local produce, artisanal fishing, and the maritime essence of the town.
