The Arenys de Mar City Council has hosted a tribute to five young local athletes for their notable results this season in state and international competitions. The event was attended by the mayor, the sports councilor, government and opposition members, as well as family and friends of the honorees.
The athletes honored are Jordi Muñiz, second place in state beach volleyball; Tiago Oliveras, third in skating; Lucas Garrido, third in European sailing; Ona Forés, first place in Spanish artistic gymnastics; and Arlet Valero, a standout player for the Catalan basketball team in the Spanish Championship.
Through this recognition, the municipal institution aims to highlight not only the sporting achievements but also the values inherent in sports practice, such as effort, perseverance, commitment, and teamwork.
Both the mayor and the sports councilor congratulated the five young athletes on their accomplishments and encouraged them to continue their sporting careers with dedication and enjoyment.
