An assault among attendees of the neo-Nazi festival 'Chaos in the Sun' required the intervention of Calella Local Police early Saturday morning.

Calella Local Police had to intervene early this morning due to an assault between attendees of the neo-Nazi festival Chaos in the Sun. The event, held on a private estate in Santa Susanna, has led some participants to stay in Calella, which resulted in the incident on Jovara street in the municipality around 00:25 AM.
Several Local Police patrols were dispatched to the scene. The victim of the assault required medical assistance, although they ultimately did not file a formal complaint.
The Chaos in the Sun festival, which brings together far-right music groups mainly from the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, Belgium, Germany, and France, began on Friday and will conclude this Saturday. This marks the fourth consecutive year it has been held in the coastal municipality.
In parallel, the Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan Police) activated a special operation on Friday to prevent hate crimes in public spaces by festival participants, who hold far-right ideologies. According to police sources, the operation remains active in public areas, as the Mossos' jurisdiction is limited to the exterior of the private estate where the event takes place. The objective is to guarantee fundamental rights, safety, and coexistence in the municipality.
The CUP (a left-wing political party) filed a complaint with the Mossos d’Esquadra on Thursday against this event, alleging that neither the local council nor the departments of Territory and Interior have taken action despite knowing that the festival lacks the necessary permits. Deputy Dani Cornellà expressed the party's "indignation" at what he considers "intolerable permissiveness" towards hate speech and fascist glorification.
