The Tiana Negra, the leading festival for crime fiction written in Catalan, will take place in Tiana on January 23 and 24, 2026. This year, the event places special emphasis on the memory and trajectory of the genre, featuring tributes to the collections La Negra, celebrating 40 years, and La Magrana, reaching its 50th anniversary.
The program will include nearly 20 activities, such as conversations, round tables, and presentations of new literary works. Among the featured authors participating are Sebastià Bennasar, Raquel Gámez-Serrano, Susana Hernández, Jordi Cervera, Joan Carles Ventura, Josep Lorman, Laia Vilaseca, and Lluís-Anton Baulenas.
The festival maintains the goal of promoting the reading of Catalan crime fiction, giving visibility to authors, and consolidating its place in the Catalan literary calendar.
Traditional spaces such as Quatre negres i un saxo and Cadires d’orelles will remain central. Furthermore, links with other disciplines will be explored, such as a session on forensic science with Roger Heredia and a panel on podcasts featuring the Crims team.
A Ruta Negra through the town and a conversation with Ferran Vallespinós Riera, author of the novel El tresor de Montis Hilaris, will also be included. The annual awards will be presented during the event, including the XIII Premi Memorial Agustí Vehí – Vila de Tiana and the Trajectory Awards for Creation and Translation, which recognize key figures within the Catalan crime fiction scene.
