Malgrat de Mar commemorates International LGTBIQ+ Pride Day with a special program honoring the figure of Federico García Lorca as a symbol of freedom and historical memory.

The municipality of Malgrat de Mar has organized the "Malgrat amb orgull" (Malgrat with Pride) activity series to commemorate International LGTBIQ+ Pride Day. This year, the initiative places a special emphasis on the poet and playwright Federico García Lorca, presenting him as an emblem of freedom and historical memory.
The program continues today, Saturday, with the creation of a mural at the Espai Jove (Youth Space) starting at 5 PM. Later, at 9:30 PM, the Colla de Diables Ratpenatsinfernals (Devil's Group Ratpenatsinfernals) will perform a 'tabalada' (drumming parade) starting from Ramon Turró street, near Bon Pastor avenue, and concluding at Àncora square. At this same location, at 10 PM, the cover band Divand will perform.
The main events will take place on Sunday, coinciding with the designated International LGTBIQ+ Pride Day. The Sala Joaquim Garriga at the Municipal Archive will host, starting at 7 PM, the reading of the manifesto and a poetic action by José Gutiérrez, Montse Pellicer, and Francisco Cazorla.
The day will conclude with the musical performance "Canciones de camastro y cuna, primeros estíos de Lorca" (Songs of the cot and cradle, Lorca's early summers), interpreted by Bru Ferri. This performance will begin at 7:30 PM in the same venue at the Municipal Archive.
In parallel to these events, the La Cooperativa Library is hosting until June 30th a bibliographic exhibition focused on diversity and the LGTBIQ+ community.
