The Mossos d'Esquadra reported that to the three minors arrested during Tuesday, five more were detained during nighttime altercations. Of these five, four are also minors, and the single adult was arrested for alleged offenses against authority.
Tension reignited in the afternoon after an assembly called at Parc de Cerdanyola to protest the eviction. Groups of people moved through the neighborhood, initiating new incidents, burning about ten containers and throwing objects and pyrotechnic devices at the police line. Officers from the public order units of the Mossos d'Esquadra had to intervene to contain the unrest.
During the morning, dozens of people had already gathered to try to prevent the judicial eviction of a family with four minor children, which led to clashes with the Mossos and the arrest of the first three minors. The intervention of officers from the Regional Area of Operational Resources (ARRO) was necessary to disperse the protesters.
The provisional balance of the incidents includes eight arrests (seven minors) and five lightly injured officers. Damage to police equipment and public furniture has also been reported. The Mossos have reinforced surveillance in the neighborhood to prevent further incidents.
The Cerdanyola neighborhood has experienced similar episodes of tension in the past, particularly during the spring of 2025, when several evictions and attempted occupations led to nights of container burning and clashes with the police.
