The CreuBlanca Maresme Hospital in Mataró, inaugurated in 2024, has announced a significant expansion planned for 2026 to increase its surgical and hospitalization capacity due to growing demand.

The expansion project for the CreuBlanca Maresme Hospital, located in Mataró, comes just two years after its opening, responding to the strong demand for private healthcare services in the region. The expansion, scheduled for 2026, seeks to consolidate the center as a regional benchmark.
The expansion includes the addition of 22 new hospitalization rooms, a complete surgical block with four state-of-the-art operating theaters, and 26 new recovery (REA) boxes. This improvement will allow for an increase in the volume and complexity of surgical interventions.

"We are not only increasing beds and operating rooms, but also incorporating advanced technology that improves patient safety and the efficiency of medical procedures throughout the Maresme region."

Jordi Tobella · Head of Management and Operations at CreuBlanca
The announcement was made public during the institutional event celebrating 75 years of CreuBlanca's history, where the focus was placed on the future and the growth of the Mataró center as a key infrastructure for the territory.
The hospital occupies the former headquarters of Caixa Laietana, on Pablo Iglesias street, and features a six-story building. Since its opening in January 2024, it has offered comprehensive medical care in over 20 specialties, reducing the need for travel to Barcelona.
