Born in Pineda de Mar in 1975, Xavier Amor is noted for his career linked to local governance and the municipal sphere. He served as mayor of Pineda de Mar for 17 years (2007-2024) after an 8-year tenure as a councillor. He also chaired the Federació de Municipis de Catalunya (Federation of Municipalities of Catalonia) from 2013 to 2019, and was a member of the Consumer and Trade Commission of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) from 2011 to 2015.
Amor holds a degree in Business Administration and Management and has studied Commerce and Public Sector Governance.
Xavier Amor will succeed Eduard Rivas Mateo, whom the President of the Generalitat of Catalonia thanks for his commitment and services rendered, and who is leaving the position of his own volition.
