The Mayor of Sant Andreu de Llavaneres, Àlex Neira, confirmed that the basic project for the Labandària space, one of the most anticipated, is ready. This new multipurpose cultural center will preserve two of the three existing buildings as annexes and construct a new theater hall with capacity for 310 seats.
“"I can say that the proposal for Labandària has pleased everyone."
Regarding protected housing, the eight flats in Can Rivière are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. Furthermore, the city council plans to demolish a building on Sant Antoni street to erect about thirty homes. Concerning the new police headquarters in Can Cabotet, the executive project will be ready in January, and although the definitive transfer will not occur before 2027, “the machine is no longer stopping.”
Neira also detailed other funded projects, such as the Bicipark and accessibility improvements on the Joaquim Matas promenade and in the Can Sanç Dalt neighborhood. Likewise, the new Football 7 field, necessary due to the increase in women's teams, has entered the bidding phase after receiving approval from the Consell Català de l’Esport.
In terms of security, the municipality has reached the largest police force in its history and plans an investment of 80,000 euros in security cameras in 2026. Separately, the new agricultural plan seeks solutions for the 50% of land that is not exploited due to a lack of generational replacement, a situation that could affect the production of the local pea and the celebration of the Festa del Pèsol.
