The Tiana City Council has secured a grant of approximately 255,000 euros from the Diputació de Barcelona to comprehensively renovate the municipality's public lighting with LED technology.

This initiative, a key component of the Municipal Action Plan (PAM) under the Green Town objective, involves replacing around 530 light points that are not currently LED. The goal is to enhance energy efficiency and advance towards sustainability.
According to municipal engineer Jordi Marsol, the transition to LED luminaires is expected to enable the City Council to achieve an estimated annual saving of approximately 40,000 euros due to reduced energy consumption.
The project, awaiting approval from the municipal plenary, is scheduled for execution in the coming months. The Diputació de Barcelona has set 2027 as the deadline for project completion, but the local government is confident in finishing it within the early months of the year.
Concurrently, the Tiana City Council is collaborating with the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB) on renovating various municipal facilities with energy efficiency criteria. Planned actions include upgrades to the sports complex, the Sala Albéniz, and the City Council building itself, featuring the installation of solar panels on the football field's roof.
