The fire, which started around three in the afternoon, has rapidly spread through the forest area and affected the road connecting Centelles and Sant Feliu de Codines. By late afternoon, around six o'clock, the firefighting operation involved 53 ground crews and 15 aerial units, including planes and helicopters, with a total of approximately 140 personnel. Forest Defense Agents (ADF) and local farmers are also collaborating.
The blaze coincides with the most critical day of the heatwave, with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius in the Moianès and Osona regions. Due to the proximity of the flames, a colony house, a campsite, and the minors' reception center at the Puigdolena sanatorium have been evacuated. Civil Protection has also requested confinement for other establishments such as the Hostal Rural Mas Blanc, Pla de la Casanova, and Rovireta.
Evacuees from the campsite have been taken to the Sant Quirze Safaja pavilion or their homes, while those from the colony house have been relocated to the Llobeta house in Aiguafreda. According to the mayor of Sant Quirze Safaja, Carles Lupiáñez, about thirty minors and the staff from the Puigdolena center have been moved to a nearby town.
By six in the evening, the fire had affected an approximate area of 97 hectares of forest land. The mayor indicated that the fire is advancing with "some virulence" towards Centelles, but its progress towards Sant Feliu de Codines has been controlled. Firefighter sources suggest the flames may have originated near the l'Illa campsite, an area that already experienced a fire on June 24th. Rural Agents are investigating the cause of the fire.
In parallel, another fire is active in Querol, in the Alt Camp region, where 32 crews are working to control a blaze affecting about six hectares. According to the town's mayor, the flames are no longer advancing and the situation is positive. This is the fourth fire in the area this week. Meanwhile, firefighters continue to work on the Rubió fire, which began on Tuesday and has been stabilized.
