The Amposta City Council has approved an investment of 1.7 million euros to enhance the energy efficiency of the Sports Technification Center (CTE) sports facilities.

The Amposta City Council has greenlit the contracting of works to optimize the energy performance of various sports facilities at the city's Sports Technification Center (CTE). The initiative carries a budget of 1.7 million euros, part of the municipal commitment to modernizing and ensuring the sustainability of its sports venues.
The project outlines four key interventions aimed at making the facilities more efficient and better suited to user needs. According to municipal sources, these actions build upon an ambitious energy efficiency plan that began with the installation of a biomass boiler and will now enable the climatization of the outdoor swimming pool.
Improvements include the installation of a 66.12 kW self-consumption photovoltaic solar plant on the roof of the EUSES Auditorium, intended to boost renewable energy production. The low-voltage electrical networks of the CTE's various buildings will also be interconnected, and lighting in the athletes' residence and fencing hall will be upgraded to LED technology.
Furthermore, the roof insulation of the sports center's residence will be enhanced to improve thermal comfort and reduce heating and cooling energy consumption. Finally, the residence's climate control system will be renovated, and the dehumidification and filtration systems for the swimming pool will be updated to boost efficiency and operational conditions.
These works are being carried out under a subsidy agreement with the Catalan Sports Council, funded by European funds from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (Next Generation EU).
