Slogans such as “If you bully, you won’t have friends” were displayed on banners during the closing session of the 2025-2026 Amposta Children's Council, held in the City Hall's plenary chamber. The symbolic act highlighted the need to raise awareness about this issue.
The young council members presented their proposals to the Mayor, Adam Tomàs, and the councilors for Education, Núria Marco; Social Rights, Núria Ferré; and Citizen Participation, Ariadna Tomàs. Among the initiatives are the installation of mailboxes in educational centers for sharing experiences, the creation of comfort spaces in schools, and the designation of adult mentors to address bullying situations.
“"With your perspective and proposals, you help us make Amposta the best city to live in, because the Amposta we want is only possible with everyone's help."
The fight against school bullying was one of the four tasks proposed by the mayor to the Children's Council upon its establishment in November 2025. Over seven working sessions, the children delved into the concepts, roles, and management of bullying, with the support of professional trainers.
As part of the closing session, recognition diplomas were also awarded to members completing their term on the Council, paving the way for the renewal of half of its members for the upcoming academic year.
