The La Ràpita City Council has reinforced aquatic safety recommendations due to rising temperatures, joining the Generalitat de Catalunya campaign 'Safe Swimming: Let's team up in the water'.

The initiative promotes shared responsibility and safe habits to prevent drownings and accidents during the summer. Amid high temperatures, the importance of exercising extreme caution at beaches, pools, and other aquatic areas is highlighted, particularly during the hottest hours.
It is recommended to swim in supervised areas, respect signage, and follow lifeguard instructions. It is also advised not to enter the water if feeling unwell, very tired, or after consuming alcohol or other substances. The importance of not swimming alone whenever possible is emphasized.
The campaign places special emphasis on supervising children, as they can drown quickly and in shallow water. They must always be kept under direct supervision, without relying solely on floats or armbands.
Elderly individuals should also take extra precautions, avoiding swimming alone, entering the water gradually, and exiting if experiencing any symptoms of fatigue or discomfort.
At the beach, flag colors must always be respected: green (swimming permitted), yellow (exercise caution), and red (swimming prohibited). In case of seeing someone in difficulty, the lifeguard service should be alerted, and 112 should be called immediately, without putting one's own safety at risk.
