Les Cases d’Alcanar is preparing to celebrate its August Festivals from August 14th to 23rd, 2026, with a program including cultural, bullfighting, and musical events, adapting to port construction.

The August Festivals in Les Cases d’Alcanar are about to begin, scheduled to take place from August 14th to 23rd, 2026. This year, the program aims to maintain the spirit of camaraderie and fun with a wide variety of cultural and festive activities, designed for all audiences and supported by local associations.
The official start of the festivals will be on Friday, August 14th, at 8:00 PM with a parade from the fairground area to Sant Pere Square, accompanied by a 'xaranga' band. Following this, bullfighting events and musical festivals will take place in the port area.
Due to ongoing port construction, some logistical changes have been implemented. Bullfighting events will be moved to Rocatallada, while the musical festivals will be held in the Marina les Cases area within the same port precinct. An agreement has been reached with Ports de la Generalitat to ensure that construction trucks will not operate during the festival days, guaranteeing the smooth running of events.
The mayor of Alcanar, Marc Chavalera, highlighted that these changes are temporary and are being embraced with enthusiasm, as the construction represents a long-awaited investment for the port's future and safety. He assured that, despite the venue changes, the festivals will retain their essence.
Chavalera also expressed gratitude to the local entities and associations that make the program possible, encouraging citizens to participate, coexist, and enjoy the events with respect and pride.
The cultural program includes a concert by the Municipal Music Band of Alcanar, a 'sardana' dance with the Sardanista Association of Alcanar, and the theatrical performance Assegui un pobre a la seua taula by the Municipal Theatre Workshop TaTTeatre. Additionally, there will be family activities, kayak excursions, 'tardeos', and concerts.
