Singer-songwriter Montse Castellà will close the 31st edition of the Barnasants cycle this Sunday with a special concert at the Unió Filharmònica d'Amposta auditorium, where she will present her new album, Groenlàndia.

The artist from Ebro will offer an anthology of her thirty years of artistic career, combining popular music and singer-songwriter style. This large-format event, with a strong symbolic charge, reinforces the community and participatory nature of the project, highlighting the band tradition of the Terres de l'Ebre and consolidating the dialogue between roots and innovation.
The new album, Groenlàndia, draws a parallel between Catalonia and the Inuit people, connecting two geographically distant realities united by the struggle for cultural, linguistic, and environmental preservation. The work addresses issues such as climate emergency, political pressure on vulnerable territories, and the defense of collective identities, becoming a call for sustainability and critical thinking.

"We are talking about two remote minorities, threatened by rising sea levels and the rise of the far right."

The album presentation in Amposta will feature the participation of the Agrupació Musical Senienca and collaborations with Pau Alabajos, Borja Penalba, Sheila López Tornero, and Julien. The album includes thirty re-recorded and remastered songs, highlighting the collaboration with Lluís Llach, who gifted Castellà the melody for the song Lliure.
Castellà describes her thirty years of dedication as a "vital path" where singer-songwriter music and social commitment are inseparable. The artist has overcome numerous difficulties, especially as a woman and coming from the Terres de l'Ebre, always maintaining her activist essence.
The Amposta concert will be unique due to the participation of the Banda de Música de la Sénia, directed by Pep Vila, with more than a third of the songs arranged for symphonic band, a work the artist considers a "planetary alignment" difficult to repeat. Barnasants closes its edition with over 12,500 tickets sold and 15,000 spectators.
