The non-profit association Joventuts Musicals La Ràpita has begun its activities by presenting two classical music concerts. The first will take place on Saturday, September 5th, at the Auditori Sixto Mir, featuring a jazz performance by the Elisenda Julià Quartet. Subsequently, on Saturday, October 3rd, the Església Nova will host an early music concert, with pieces performed on baroque violin and theorbo. Both events will start at 7:30 PM, be free for all citizens, and will not require prior reservation.
The association's president, Joan Agustí Ramírez, highlighted the entity's aim to present chamber ensembles of emerging talent with high artistic quality and repertoires less common in the city. The goal is to complement the existing cultural offerings, which focus on traditional and heritage music, with small-format classical music proposals. Agustí Ramírez invited citizens to attend the concerts and to join Joventuts Musicals de la Ràpita.
The presentation was supported by the La Ràpita City Council. The communication councilor, Ivan Subirats, emphasized the municipal commitment to enriching the cultural offerings with quality concerts, highlighting the investment in the Auditori Sixto Mir as a key facility for consolidating the city within the cultural circuit. This initiative seeks to leverage culture as a tool for enriching the municipality.
The vice-president, Elisa Huguet, explained that Joventuts Musicals is an international movement that supports young musical talent through concerts, competitions, and educational programs. She mentioned the existence of similar entities in Tortosa and Vinaròs, with whom synergies will be sought. Huguet recalled that the organization is recognized by UNESCO as the most important youth music movement globally.
